About the event
Join us for coffee, snacks, and discussions with James and Jessica Frey who will be presenting their work in organic research. Jessica will present her Masters’ research conducted under the supervision of Dr. Joanne Thiessen Martens. Jessica’s research explores the role of cover crops in wheat production, providing valuable insights into sustainable agricultural practices. Their presentation will delve into the methodologies, findings, and implications of their research, offering an in-depth understanding of organic farming systems and the benefits of integrating cover crops into wheat cultivation.

James Frey (Applied Research Specialist, Manitoba Agriculture) is going to be speaking about the Parkland Crop Diversification Foundation, and the potential for organic research projects.
About PCDF:
“For more than 25 years, PCDF has conducted applied research to evaluate, demonstrate and facilitate the use of new crops, technologies and value-added opportunities. Farm Clubs
Are you an organic farmer, a future farmer, or curious about organic practices?
This winter’s Farm Clubs offer a space for farmers, whether you’re a seasoned organic farmer or just beginning your journey in sustainable agriculture. These clubs are your opportunity to share your best management practices with your peers, learn from industry experts, and reconnect within our community. It’s also an opportunity to express the kind of facilitation YOU would like to see. Welding workshops? Application assistance? Cost-share programs? This is a chance to discuss with MOA the programming you would like to see.

¨ Knowledge Sharing: Connect with your fellow organic farmers, share your experiences, and gain valuable insights for your farm.
